A can be for alcohol
Calling all you alcoholics! I come forth with a public service announcement about the benefits of why alcohol really isn't that bad for you.
Ok, ok, so getting blackout drunk and accidentally sleeping with your roommate or someone you meet at a bar isn't one of them. Neither is countless shots of tequila on a Saturday night. The alcohol that ACTUALLY brings health benefits is none other than, red wine.
You heard that right. Red, red wine. You make me feel so fine. You keep me rockin' all of the time. It's no wonder why crazy Neil Diamond once sang those notes about it, but nobody realizes it was originally his song. In fact, nobody even cares, we just sing it when we get plastered during Karaoke.
Before I ramble for days about my eclectic music knowledge and taste, let's get to the nitty grity of exactly why red wine is beneficial for you and your skin.
Red wine is the most beneficial for aging skin. It's packed with antioxidants, like flavonoids, resveratrol and tannin; which help restore collagen and elastic fibers. Flavonoids contain high concentrations of antioxidants that help to neutralize free radicals present in the environment. Resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant found in grapes, blueberries, and raspberries. It is most concentrated in the skin and seeds of the grapes and berries. Tannin is a textural element that makes wine taste dry. It is found in bark, wood and fruit skins. Tannin is also a natural astringent, that adds glow to your skin.
So if red wine is really good for you, Skin Betch, how often should I consume it to reap the benefits?
I thought you would never ask! I would keep it to a glass or two a night. Not a whole bottle! If you feel like you need to drink a whole bottle, you may have far more issues than aging skin and I would seek help...ASAP!
yours truly,
The Skin Betch
